The runner up of county with highest number of billionaires is the world’s largest population, China. Among more than one billion people of China, there are 213 billionaires.
The richest man in China is the world’s 18th riches, Wang Jianlin. You might be surprised to know that he owns two large US film and TV production companies: Legendary Entertainment (remember The Dark Knight, Inception, and Jurassic World?) and AMC Entertainment Holdings (the home to The Walking Dead).
Wang Jianlin’s net worth is $28.7 billion. He spent $3.5 billion to buy Legendary Entertainment and $2.6 billion to buy AMC.
As rich as Jianlin is, China is the world’s second largest economy with $11.385 trillion of nominal GDP. As Indonesian, who lives among many Chinese descendants, I can tell you that Chinese people are really good with money.
