4. VX
Also known as nerve agent, VX is an extremely toxic substance. Next time you see amber-like-colored liquid that is odorless, beware. That is probably VX.
This substance is also tasteless. So, you won’t realize you have swallowed it. But forget poisoning someone’s drink with VX. Even just 10 milligrams VX exposure to your skin can be lethal. In just a few seconds, you will be twitching to death as your muscles give up their daily jobs. That means they no longer pump your heart and lungs.
Similar substance was recently used in Syria. Specially designed rockets spread the substance over a suburban area where the Syrian rebels resided. That was in 2013, and that substance is called Sarin. It was design to evaporate rapidly, making it more effective in attack.
VX and other similar nerve agents were developed since the 1940s. However, since 1969 in United States, and 1997 worldwide, VX has been banned and disposed. This chemical weapon is now illegal and no longer produced. Or is it?
