6. Giuseppe Greco (1952 – 1985)
Giuseppe Greco was a renowned hitman of the Sicilian Mafia. His father was also a mafioso known as Scarpa or “shoe”. Thus, that was where Giuseppe got his nickname Scarpuzzedda or “little shoe”. However, the murders he committed were far from little.
Even though he was convicted for 58 counts of murder, it is believed that Giuseppe had murdered hundreds of people. His weapon of choice was AK-47. But he was known to apply some other killing methods such as torturing, strangling, and acid-dissolving.
Unlike most hit-men, he did not work alone. He had a death squad consisted other deadly killers. Unfortunately for him, some of them who should have been his trustworthy turned their guns on him. They are Vincenzo Puccio and Giuseppe Lucchese. And they shot him to death at his own home.
The trial versus Giuseppe was conducted after his death. The result was his in absentia and postmortem life sentence. Until today, he remains one of the most prolific murderers by number of victims.
