13. Salvatore Gravano (born 1945)
Salvatore Gravano is popularly known as Sammy the Bull. When I say popular, I mean press, media, and interview kind of popular. We’ll get to that story later on.
First, let’s take a look at Sammy’s track record in assassination. Sammy was a part of the Gambino Family, Italian crime organization which operates in New York City. He was captured for the execution of former Gambino’s boss, Paul Castellano. Upon the murder, he was promoted to underboss by the new man in charge, John Gotti.
Little did John know, Sammy cut a deal with the government and turned him to the authorities. Because of this cooperation, Sammy was released in 1994 and entered US fed’s witness protection program. But he didn’t like it and chose to live an open live instead. In fact, he appeared in many media for interviews.
“Once a criminal, always a criminal” suits Sammy well. It seems like he could not part ways with this side of his life. He became a drug dealer and is currently serving time for this crime until 2019. Some of his close relatives said that he admitted murdering more than twenty people. But unfortunately, those have never been proven.
