6. Tom Andrews
Ellen discovered Tom Andrews directly. She saw his video online and she called this British teenager right away. She invited him to perform on her show. He brought out his version of James Brown’s “It’s A Man’s Man’s Man’s World”.
Ellen didn’t just discover Tom and gave him his first performance debut. She also signed him to her record label, eleveneleven.
Tom discovered his talent himself by the age of 13, not long before the breakthrough. He started off with karaoke during holidays.
Three years later, a call from Ellen, a performance debut on Ellen, and a record deal with Ellen’s label. What a hat-trick!
