5. Denmark didn’t lose a single leg on the group stage
Since the group stage, Denmark has shown its determination. The drawing result put Denmark in Group D along with three other nations: Chinese Taipei, New Zealand, and South Africa.
Denmark started strong by defeating those three nations. First, it defeated South Africa by 5-0. Then it repeated the same mighty score against New Zealand. And lastly, it battled the first place with Chinese Taipei. The final score was 3-2.
This was one of the strongest results Denmark has ever achieved in group stage. It finished as the group winner with the perfect points: 3.
On quarterfinal, Denmark defeated last tournament’s winner, Japan. On semifinal, it was Malaysia’s turn to succumb. Both legs were finished with a tight 3-2 score.
