7. Like father, like son?
As mentioned earlier, Drake is a son of an African American from Tennessee. The man’s name is Dennis Graham. Back in the days, he was a drummer. And he performed with country artist, Jerry Lee Lewis. So, it is safe to say that music has run through Drake’s blood. Even though he lived with his mother after the divorce, Dennis still somehow influenced his choice of career.
Young Drake would travel back and forth between Toronto and Memphis to see his father. But even at such a young age, he witnessed his father got arrested at the border when he tried to crossover.
Dennis collaborated with Canadian country music group, Arkells, for a song about his relationship with Drake. It is called, surprisingly, Drake’s Dad.
Now, the table seems to have turned. While he used to work with country musicians, Dennis is now taking the R&B world, which is closer to his son. And last year, he released his first single called Kinda Crazy. Unfortunately, it didn’t sell.
Dennis was mad about this. He posted his statement on Instagram saying he was going to delete all of his so-called friends who haven’t purchased his single. Can someone check if he did?
