5. Air Jordan II – $31,000
In 1986, this second edition of Air Jordan was initially released under the name New Air Jordan. It was made in Italy to give a bit of a luxurious touch. Unfortunately, this model did not live up to the expectation to exceed the first one.
Perhaps one of the reasons was the fact that it does not have the Nike swoosh on the upper. People buy expensive branded stuff to brag about it. So, how can you brag Nike shoes without the trademark swoosh on them?
The Air Jordan II was produced for about two years only before it was revived decades later. Its retail price was only $100. But this particular Air Jordan II pair has survived three decades of sweat and smelly feet.
It was sold on eBay for $31,000. Surprisingly, it was not sold in minted condition. In fact, it seemed like it was worn and taken care rather poorly. Nevertheless, the former owner bagged a good amount of cash from selling it.
