Designed to race in touring car championships, the Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint 1600 GTA is the more powerful version of the Giulia GT production car.
This lightened and more powerful car won two European touring car championships.
In order to get its weight down from 2200 to 1630 lbs, they used materials like magnesium in the wheels and other castings. Plus, the side windows and rear window were also replaced with plexi-glass.
The car was produced by Autodelta in 1965 and it was presented at the Amsterdam Motor Show.
