2. Aston Martin DB4GT Zagato Le Mans (Price: $19.92 million)
The DB4GT Zagato was manufactured between the years of 1960 to 1962. There are only 19 of them were built. Last year, one of them hit the Sotheby’s auction in a Driven By Disruption event New York. With $19.92 million, it became the most expensive British car ever sold at auction.
As mentioned earlier, the car is powered by a 3,670 cc DOHC Straight engine. Even with that capacity, it can go up to 246 kph of speed. And it goes from standing to 100 kph in 6.1 seconds.
Zagato coach-built only 19 of this Aston Martin DB4GT. This one was first bought by sport cars enthusiast, Laurie O’Neill, and delivered to Australia. It competed in some races before sold to Colin Hyams in the late 1960s.
Long story short, the car was sold to Peter Read. After more than two decades in the storage, he decided to give the car a complete restoration. Specialists from both Aston Martin and Zagato worked on it for two years.
