Most Expensive Carpets in the World

N9. Small Medallion Ushak Rug – $158,000

This is another 16th century piece with Anatolian origin. The expensive carpet which features some dark and rich colors is in excellent condition considering its age.

It comes with in a bit smaller form than many of the other carpets featured in this list.

The carpet had an estimated price of $40,000 to $60,000 but it managed to sell for $158,000 at Christie’s auction.

Like the previous rug, this one also features an impressive piece in the center. This rug with a classic medallion in the center was more likely used as a prayer rug for Muslims.

This is an old rug, but it’s still a valuable piece, which is why it was ranked #9 in our list.
