N2. 1954 Mercedes Benz W196R Silver Arrow: $29.6 million
One of the most expensive cars in the world is the Mercedes-Benz W196. This car was the Mercedes-Benz F1 entry in the 1954 and 1955 Formula One seasons.
The car won 9 of 12 races, in which was driven by Juan Manuel Fangio and Stirling Moss.
They only produced 14 of these cars but only 10 are known to exist today. Three of them are in museums and six located in the Mercedes Benz home office in Germany.
That leaves one car, this car that is owned by a private collector.
It was sold in 2013 by the British auction house, Bonhams’, for $29,601,500.
