8. Alfa Romeo Monza ($12 million)
Alfa Romeo Monza is a part of the Alfa Rome 8C series in the 1930s. This was one of the first models, which was named the Alfa Romeo 8C 2300 as a reference to the car’s engine, 2.3-L. It was designed as a racing car. And in fact, the manufacturer announced that they were not going to sell it to private buyers.
However, perhaps due to high level of demands, this car was eventually produced for road use. And one of them got to Ralph Lauren’s private garage.
How much does this car worth? Well, there is no exact statement about how much Ralph spent for this one, but the same copy was auctioned for nearly $12 million. The auction took place at the Gooding & Company action house in California last year.
The name Monza was added to this model after its victorious race during the 1931 Italian Grand Prix. To date, the race track remains one of the most legendary in motorsport events, including Formula 1 Grand Prix.
