2. L’Incomparable ($55 million)
As you look at that beautiful jewel, you can tell that it is indeed incomparable. This beauty was made by Lebanese jeweler, Mouawad. It was sold at Singapore Jewel Fest in October 2013 for $55 million. Jean Nasr, managing director of Mouawad in Singapore, never reveals the buyer’s identity.
What makes this necklace so expensive is its world’s largest internally flawless yellow step-cut diamond. And it weighs 407.48 carats. It is intertwined by 18K rose gold branchlet.
The branchlet is studded with 90 white diamonds. They weigh nearly 230 carats with various cuts and carats.
That center masterpiece was found accidentally in Democratic Republic of Congo. More than 30 years ago, a young girl plucked it out of discarded pile of kimberlite. Then, years later, the stone was cut into distinctive triolette shape. And it became the second most expensive diamond necklace ever sold, L’Incomparable.
