14. Boucheron Emerald and Diamond Necklace ($5.7 million)
This Boucheron emerald and diamond necklace is considered as an exceptional treasure. Especially with the fact that it combines emerald drops and large diamonds. It hit Christie’s Hong Kong in May 2013. And it was sold to anonymous buyer for $5,709,422.
It was designed as a line of graduated old European and cushion-shaped diamonds. This necklace suspends a fringe of emerald drops. And they are flanked by cabochon emeralds and accented by sugar-loaf emerald clasp. Also, these are mounted on 18k yellow gold and platinum by Boucheron.
This exceptional emerald and diamond necklace lives up to its name. All of the emeralds are from Colombia. In total, they weigh 105 carats. And they have no indications of clarity modification and minor to moderate amount of oil in fissures. These big emeralds show well saturated green colors that well match one another.
The outstanding part of this necklace is its centerpiece which shows excellent purity of emerald. That is very rare.
