N3. Stettheimer Dollhouse – $1 million
Constructed by Carrie Walter Stettheimer between 1916 and 1935 in NYC, this dollhouse takes 3th position in our list of the most expensive dollhouses in the world.
For this piece many contemporary artists made miniatures of their art, including Marcel Duchamp, George Bellows, Gaston Lachaise, and many others.
The 12-room dollhouse if now located at the Museum of the City of New York. The Throne Rooms were designed by Narcissa Niblack Throne and each of them has a different theme.
The furniture for those room boxes was created by craftsmen in the 1930s and 1940s.
