61967 Shelby GT500 Super Snake – $ 1.3 million
At the Dana Mecum 26th Original Spring Classic Auction, where the Hero car was sold, another Mustang of great importance was paid lots of money for.
Well, actually even more money than for the Hero car. And, also very important to be mentioned is that it became the most expensive Mustang ever sold.
It may not be the first Mustang to be called a Super Snake, but it’s the only one of its kind.
It was built to demonstrate Goodyear’s new “Thunderbolt” tire line, but its $8,000 price tag discouraged all potential buyers, so the initial test car remains the only built.
Time heals everything, so it ended up being sold for $ 1.3 million.
