4. Emerald and Diamond Pendant Brooch ($6.6 million)
This emerald and diamond pendant brooch was specially made by Bulgari in 1958. Richard Burton gave it to Elizabeth and she wore it on her yellow chiffon dress on their wedding day in Montreal, 1964.
The $6,578,500 purchase made by anonymous buyer boosted the value of this brooch up to $280,000 per carat. Christie’s estimated its value for just around $500,000 to $700,000. So, that is a staggering number and it broke two world auction records. One is for an emerald jewel and the other one is for an emerald per carat.
Liz’s wedding brooch was set with a rectangular-cut emerald as the center stone. Surrounding it are some pear-shaped diamonds mounted in platinum. They weigh 23.46 carats in total.
Even though Liz wore it as a brooch on her wedding day, this piece of jewelry can also act as a pendant. It can be suspended from the Emerald and Diamond Necklace, also designed by Bulgari, which we saw earlier before this.
