9. Emerald and Diamond Bracelet ($4 million)
Next up is a part of the Bulgari Emerald Suite jewelry set. It took Richard Burton five years before giving this special birthday gift to his lovely wife in 1967. That was a lot of time and efforts he put in.
Christie’s estimated this piece of jewelry to worth around $300,000 to $500,000 only. But one private buyer from United States was willing to buy it for $4,002,500.
The bracelet is set with thirteen rectangular-cut and square-cut emeralds in a graduated series. And each of them is spaced by rectangular-cut diamonds. Several circular-cut diamond trefoils and pear-shaped diamonds trim the bracelet. The whole things were mounted in platinum.
According to American Gemological Laboratories, ten of the emeralds are classified as Classic Colombia, while the other three are Classic Zimbabwe. But all of them are attested as rare and prestigious.
