The Most Expensive Jewelry owned by Elizabeth Taylor

8. Diamond Tiara ($4.2 million)

The Cartier Ruby suite was not the only piece of jewelry Mike Todd gave to Elizabeth Taylor in 1957. I have to say, this tiara just topped it off. She might not have been an actual queen, but she was like the royal family of Hollywood. And this tiara embodied that perfectly.

This particular piece of jewelry dates back to the year of 1880. So, even though it is estimated to worth less than $100,000, its history and design made it valued at $4,226,500.

Known as the Mike Todd Diamond Tiara, Liz wore this jewelry in many important occasions. And the most important one was when she wore it for the first time for the Academy Award. Because on that same night, Mike’s movie won the Oscar.

The tiara was designed as nine old mine-cut diamond scrolls with larger diamond terminals with the same cut. Each of them is spaced by another set of diamonds, the latticework motifs. Altogether, they were mounted in platinum and gold.
