She first shared her vision in 1926 on the cover of Vogue, when she wore a simple black dress, calf-length, embellished with nothing but a few diagonal lines.
Vogue also said that the LBD would become “a sort of uniform for all women of taste”. It was intended to be long-lasting, versatile, affordable, accessible to the widest market possible and in a neutral color.
And now, it is still the most stylish item in any woman’s wardrobe.
