6. Disneyland, China ($5.5 billion)
The sixth in our list of most expensive man made attractions, this most expensive Disneyland was just opened two months ago. This one is located in Shanghai, China.
It was supposed to be opened in late 2015. But there were some construction delays. Besides that, the construction cost needed some adjustment as well. Initially, the cost was estimated to be just around $3.7 billion. However, due to some additional attractions, it rose to around $5.5 billion.
With such cost, you would think that this Disneyland exceed other attractions in terms of its size. You thought it wrong. In fact, it only occupies 11-acre area. So, what makes it so expensive?
This theme park applies the latest and most modern technology to its attractions. Besides the high-tech attractions, you can see this from the high-speed rail system they built to get visitors to and from the site.
