11. Disneyland, Hong Kong ($3.5 billion)
Hong Kong Disneyland is one of many Disney attractions in the world. This one was first opened eleven years ago. And it has the same concept with the first Disneyland Park. It consists of some themed lands and a resort.
The whole area occupies 310 acres of Penny’s Bay, Lantau Island, Hong Kong. The cost of buying and developing the area itself was around $1.74 billion. And the cost to build it was around $1.81 billion. Thus, in total, the whole Hong Kong Disneyland Resort cost $3.5 billion to build.
When it was first opened, there were only four themed lands. Then four years after that, three additional themed lands were added into the expansion.
There is something special about the Hong Kong Disneyland. If you get the chance to visit, make sure to find all Hidden Mickeys throughout the park. They subtly inserted Mickey’s head into the design of attractions and environmental decor.
