N9. 1929 Brough Superior SS100- $448,156

This particular bike was designed and built by George Brough in England back in 1924.
Only 69 bikes were ever produced in 1925 with every model specially designed to meet specific customer requirements such as handlebars to be individually shaped.
They were advertised by Brough as the “Rolls Royce of Motorcycles” and were priced at £170.
All bikes had a guarantee that they were capable to reach 100 mph (160 km/h).
The SS100 (Super Sport 100) was the first custom motorcycle with components chosen from many different suppliers.
On April 2008, at the Stafford Motorcycle show, the auctioneers sold as a 1934 Brough Superior for $425,943 that time broke the record and the highest price ever paid for a British motorcycle at auction.
Later, in October 2010 a new record was set when this 1929 Brough Superior SS100 was sold at the Haynes International Motor Museum for $448,156.
