N1. 1971 Hemi Cuda Convertible 4-Speed — $3.5 Million
The most expensive muscle car sold at an auction is a 1971 Hemi Cuda Convertible 4-Speed.
In 2002, this classy car generated a lot of fuss when it sold at auction for $3.5 million.
Nicknamed as “The Holy Grail of Muscle Cars”, the car is one of the original Hemi Cuda Convertibles.
It is also the one of two Hemi Cuda cars that were fitted with a four-speed transmission.
Experts believe that this is the only original four-speed Hemi Cuda that still exists.
The car was sold this year (2014) at a Mecum auto auction, making the car with the highest price ever paid for any muscle car and the highest price ever paid for any car produced by Chrysler.
