1. Porsche 550 Spyder ($6 million)
And here we are at the top of our list with the first ever race car model built by Porsche. This one is fresh from the auction. Setting a new world record at Bonhams Goodwood Revival Sale just a few weeks ago, this Porsche 550 Spyder was sold at a staggering £4,593,500 (approximately $6 million).
Produced in 1956, you would think that this car has been restored several times. Well, you thought it wrong. This Porsche 550 is at its original, unrestored, beautifully preserved condition. It even smells like the 1950s, says Bonhams auctioneer, James Knight.
There were only 46 of these legendary cars ever built. Besides this record-breaking copy, one of them was owned by the famous James Dean. He even got a nickname for his Porsche 550, Little Bastard.
This Little Bastard is not so little in terms of power unit. It is equipped with 1.5-liter 2-cylinder DOHC engine. That is like the bad-ass engine of the 1950s era.
