Donald Trump owned two estates in Palm Beach area. This was one of them. This one is an oceanfront mansion. It is approximately 43,000 square feet wide.
He bought the mansion in 2004 for just $40 million on a bankruptcy auction. Actually, Forbes valued the property at $43 million. So, technically he has already got $3 million profit.
It was never his vacation spot. He purchased it for investment purpose only. After keeping the property intact for four years, he sold it for $100 million.
What a sweet way to make money. That sale put it as the most expensive house ever sold in the United States. It broke the previous record of $70 million.
