10. Jimi Hendrix’s Contract – Sold for: $200,000
One of the greatest musicians of all time, Jimi Hendrix’s 1965 contract with PPX Enterprises wasn’t actually a great deal. It allowed him an advance of just $1 and assuaged his right to own any of his material in the future.
This contract was supposedly lost for a long time, and was signed by Hendrix without him really reading it properly, according to his girlfriend at the time. There was a massive, long-winded court battle when he got significantly more famous to fight the royalties clause on this very contract. This is a major piece of music history and it fetched a huge price.
