8. The LP John Lennon signed for his killer – Sold for: $525,000
This is probably one of the most grim examples of music memorabilia in existence.
This Double Fantasy LP was signed by Lennon outside his home for Mark David Chapman, the man who would fatally shoot him just 5 hours later.
The identity of the seller was kept secret by the auction house, for fear of death threats and negative press attention.
The killer himself, Chapman, supposedly wanted to buy it back and donate the proceeds to a children’s charity.
