5. Officially Opening the Tournament at Center Court
As it was mentioned earlier, Wimbledon is all about tradition. One of them is the fixed schedule of the defending champion’s first match.
Once you win a Wimbledon title, you know for sure when you are going to play in the same tournament next year. Center court. Monday. 1 pm.
Having a fixed schedule is way better than having to wait around for the previous match to end before you can get on to the court. Even rain will not stop you. The Wimbledon roof will be there to shelter you.
As seen on the picture, whenever the Queen decides to watch, the players must take a moment to turn around, drop everything off, and bow towards the Royal’s box.
