10. Greeted by Fans
This is probably the best part of living the moment as a Grand Slam champion. Hearing people chanting your name, seeing them smiling at you (or sometimes screaming at you), and meeting them as they welcome you back to the tournament.
Tennis is not like football where fans can keep cheering on their favorite players as they battle on the court. It is exactly the opposite. You have to be very quiet when you watch them on court.
So, meeting these champions off court is the best they can get in terms of cheering their idols non-stop without the umpire saying “Be quiet, please.”
In the other hand, this kind of encounter gives players the energy and spirit they need to win the Grand Slam. Plus, it is always nice to know that there are people out there supporting you.
