2. Fendi on the Great Wall of China – A/W 2007
Karl Lagerfeld booked up the Great Wall of China for Fendi’s Autumn/Winter 2007 show, which reportedly cost $10 million.
The show was staged at sunset, and 88 models walked a section of the Great Wall (this number was chosen specifically for its significance in Chinese culture), and 500 guests were invited at significant effort and expense. To combat the very chilly temperatures, the seats were heated and guests were served with hot chocolate after the show. Hopefully this made their trip worth it.
