12. Louis Vuitton’s black carousel (plus a big fountain) – S/S 2014
Louis Vuitton’s creative director at the time, Marc Jacobs, went one better than his 2013 show in 2014, creating a richly gothic runway, complete with a carousel and a fountain. (There were also escalators. Again.)
The large majority of the collection was black, and each model wore an extravagant and impractically tall feather headdress, some walking around the space and others sitting on the carousel horses to model the collection.
This would be Marc Jacobs’ final collection before passing the creative director baton onto Nicolas Ghesquiere. He clearly wanted to go out with a bang with one of the most extravagant fashion shows Paris had ever seen.
