11. Chanel’s white carousel – A/W 2008
Karl Lagerfeld loves to create a spectacle. He’s basically the King of Extravagant Fashion Shows, if such a title existed. In 2008, this took the form of an opulent, white carousel decorated with larger than life classic Chanel accessories.
The fashion press pretty much unanimously thought the collection was quite upbeat and bright, featuring some distressed denim pieces and some cheeky mini skirts, as well as sticking with the traditional bouclé tweed that Chanel is known for.
The front row (which was huge) included all the usual suspects – Claudia Schiffer, Daphne Guinness, Charlotte Gainsbourg and the Olson twins.
