5. Audi
The German automobile manufacturer is on five on our top!
The company name is based on the surname of the founder Augustus Horch. “Horch” means “listen” in German and becomes “Audi” when translated into Latin.
In the beginning it wasn’t Audi but Auto Union. It was composed by four car companies that banded together to create Auto Union.
The four rings represent all those 4 companies, DKW, Horch, Wanderer and Audi each one represented by a circle. All united makes the Audi logo you know today!
