6. Born This Way Foundation (Lady Gaga)
In 2012, Lady Gaga and her mother Cynthia Germanotta, founded the Born This Way Foundation. Inspired by her song with the same title, this charity foundation focuses on creating a safe community to help connecting young people with the skills and the opportunities they need in order to build a kinder and braver world.
As the foundation’s three pillars says “Youth need to feel safe; Youth need the skills to effect change; and Youth need the opportunities that make them feel empowered.”
The foundation has three ways of work: online, on the road, and down the street. Through online work, the foundation promotes the self-awareness through Gaga’s massive fan base. For on the road work, the Born Brave Bus Tour travels across the country. And for the down the street work, the foundation builds partnership with other institutions.
