6. Funny Face (1957)
Jo (Audrey Hepburn) is a simple but intelligent bookstore clerk who steps into the fashion world by luck. Although at first she has no interest for this industry, she is chosen by the famous fashion photographer Dick Avery (Fred Astaire) to be the face of a new campaign.
She accepts the offer only because it included going to Paris but in the end she starts to like this work.
The Guardian stated that “Funny Face is a smarter film than it first appears to be. The fantasy of the shop girl catapulted to fame is bolstered by the movie’s feel for the mechanics, and the personalities of the fashion world.”
