This guy took advantage from the technology era and made his billion from Rackspace.com.
Basically, it’s a company that does web-hosting and cloud-computing.
He grew up on a ranch near San Antonio, where he started his first venture in high-school. The venture implied him taking photos of livestock shows and selling them to contestants.
After this venture he went into real estate. But the web-hosting thingy started in 1998 when three college students asked him to invest in their web-hosting; the same place where he joined as CEO.
Weston supports San Antonio science and education projects including a computer terminal at the public library.
He also supports efforts to expand San Antonio’s tech community.
Between 2013 and 2013 he lost $600 million which makes him not a billionaire anymore.
