Back then his net worth was estimated at $6 billion. His company Olav Thon Group is the largest private real estate company in Norway with 450 properties, including 60 hotels.
This former farm boy turned into a famous entrepreneur who made billions from the business he started.
He started building his wealth from a real estate and hotel business which eventually gained him $6 billion in 2013.
But now it’s a total different story. Thon ended up with only $250 million in his bank account because he decided to donate much of his fortune and ownership of his empire to his own charitable foundation.
He still got some millions left, but all the profits now go directly to charity.
