7Burj Al Arab, Dubai
You all know it, you all saw it! At least in pictures. The construction of Burj Al Arab began in 1994 and it was finished 5 years later, with a cost of $650 million.
Designed by architect Tom Wright of WKK Architects, its structure is designed to mimic the sail of a ship and it features 60 floors and 202 bedroom suites.
And it is the 4th tallest hotel in the world, with a height of 1.053 feet. Not to worry! It is totally safe. To secure its foundation, 230 40-meter-long concrete piles are stuck into the sand.
