George Soros has been known for his involvement in US politics for more than a decade. When you are super rich, there are two paths you can take to get involved in your country’s politic. You can either do the Trump, which is running for office, or do the Soros, which is becoming a large donor.
We don’t know how long exactly Soros has been doing this, but his big donations started during the 2004 presidential election. He was among many donors of the Democracy Alliance, a group founded to defeat President Bush.
Then in 2012, he donated $1 million to back President Obama’s reelection. And about a year later, he helped the Democrat make a path for Hillary Clinton as he donated $25,000 to Ready for Hillary.
The following years after that, Soros donated more and more, assuring his spot as one of the biggest donors for the Democrat’s presidential candidates.
