8. Antonio Conte – Chelsea ($8.4 million annual salary)
All football fans must remember seeing Antonio Conte jumping up and down and screaming all the way through the match as he coached Italian national team in the last Euro 2016. He was so energetic and vocal. It was a contrast seeing him alongside the cool, calm, collected Joachim Lowe when the country played against Germany.
Conte’s name blasted off the chart as he successfully brought Juventus to win many trophies, including the 2012-2013 Serie A. That particular success put him as the Best Coach of the Year. It’s the icing on the cake with the club he used to play with as a midfielder for almost a decade.
He left Juventus after three years only to coach Italian national team. When the Italian Football Federation announced that Euro 2016 will be Conte’s last action with the team, fans were disappointed even though they were skeptical about him.
Conte joined Chelsea right after Euro with $8.4 million of annual salary. He is one of the many reasons we should be watching the English Premier League this season.
