7. Luis Enrique – Barcelona ($9 million annual salary)
Luis Enrique was one of the Spanish National Team starting lineups for ten years since 1991. As a forward midfielder, he scored a total of 12 goals for his country. In club level, he was with Real Madrid and Barcelona. It was a dream comes true for any Spaniard football players.
Enrique retired from professional football in 2004 with Barcelona. Four years after that, he returned to the club as he managed the Barcelona B team for three years.
Then, two years ago, he joined the Barcelona senior team as a manager. He is paid $9 million per year by the club.
That price is a good deal considering Enrique’s success in giving Barca a back-to-back treble in 2014-2015 season and last season. Initially, players and supporters disliked him for altering the team’s lineup. But, look where it got him now.
