The American golf player is one of the few to broke several records among his career. He has been world number one for the most consecutive weeks and for the greatest total number of weeks of any golfer.
Woods has won 18 World Golf Championships, and won at least one of those events in each of the first 11 years after they began in 1999. Him and Rory McIlroy are the only golfers to win both The Silver Medal and The Gold Medal at The Open Championship.
Before the age of two he was introduced to golf. by his athletic dad Earl, a single-figure handicap amateur golfer who had been one of the first African-American college football players at Kansas State University.
At age 20 in 1996, he became the first golfer to win three consecutive U.S. Amateur titles and won the NCAA individual golf championship.
