Weber’s first deal with the Predators was worth $1.425 million, and during his sophomore season he became one of their most valuable players. In 2008, Weber’s second deal with the Predators was worth $13.5 million, nearly ten times his original deal five years earlier, which pushed him right up the highest paid hockey players list.
