1. Sidney Crosby – $16.5 million earnings
Pittsburgh Penguins center, Sidney Crosby has a similar contract to his contemporary Shea Weber – a front-loaded one which pays the player a significant amount in the first three seasons.
Crosby received $12 million in his contract with the Penguins, and will continue to earn significant salaries into his mid thirties.
Crosby is also the captain of the Canadian national team, was a great addition to the team during the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics, helping the team win a gold medal.
