Canadian player Patrice Bergeron is an alternate captain for the Boston Bruins, drafted to the NHL in 2003 which began his trajectory to becoming one of the highest paid hockey players in the world.
In 2013, Bergeron signed a $55 million contract extension with the Bruins, and he earns $8.75 million a year with them. With his teammates, he won gold at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics and at the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics.
