11. Claude Giroux – $9 million earnings
Canadian-born Claude Giroux is the captain of the Philadelphia Flyer, and has been playing professionally since 2007.
Giroux was elbowed in the head by entry no. 10, Corey Perry during a 2008 game against the Anaheim Ducks. Giroux missed five games due to the concussion, and Perry was suspended for four. He earns the same amount as Perry – $9 million a year – and he signed an 8-year deal with the Philadelphia Flyers for $66.2 million, pushing him up the highest paid hockey players list.
