A Russian ice hockey center for the Pittsburgh Penguins, Evgeni Malkin began his career in 2004.
Malkin was the first Russian player to be awarded the Conn Smythe Trophy in 2009, an award which is given to the MVP of the NHL. He has also represented Russia at various world championships, including gold medals in Belarus in 2014 and Germany in 2012.
