5. Lynsey Addario
Lynsey Addario is a photojournalist, known for her focus on war zones and international conflicts.
A daring photographer, Addario has worked with the Buenos Aires Herald, freelanced for the Associated Press and been to Taliban-controlled Afghanistan. She has documented conflicts in the Middle East, Darfur, Chad, Haiti and the Republic of Congo. Due to the political relevance of her work, she has worked closely with The New York Times, TIME, National Geographic and Newsweek throughout her career.
Addario briefly went missing in Libya in 2011 along with three colleagues, they were released by the government after 5 days. She has also reportedly been assaulted and strip searched by Israeli soldiers when trying to photograph the Erez Crossing.
